As well as Hadrian’s Wall, Carlisle illustrates the very diverse history of this part of north-west England. The Tullie House Museum is a good place to start your visit, illustrating, as it does, the history of everything from the Border Reivers to the biscuit factory, via the World War One “Carlisle Experiment” in pub licensing. If you have time, make sure you also visit the fine Norman cathedral and impressive 11th century Carlisle Castle.
Since 2019, there have been commercial flights into Carlisle Lake District Airport — where Go Hadrian’s Wall can meet you — although most visitors probably arrive at Carlisle’s impressive ‘Citadel’ railway station, or along the nearby M6 motorway.
At Go Hadrian’s Wall we have a range of vehicles, and provide flexible travel for any number of people, up to and including groups of 20 or more.
