We’re based in Hexham, so we may be biased, but it really is a great place to start your adventure on Hadrian’s Wall. It has good hotels, pubs and restaurants; there are some quirky local shops — particularly in the alleys and streets around the Market Place — as well as major supermarkets.
Make sure you visit Hexham Abbey — the iconic heart of the town, described (in a much earlier era) as one of the finest churches north of the Alps — and don’t forget the nearby Moot Hall and Old Gaol.
It’s easy to get to Hexham by road, bus or train, and we can pick you up from the airports at Newcastle or Carlisle.
At Go Hadrian’s Wall we have a range of vehicles, and provide flexible travel for any number of people, up to and including groups of 20 or more.
