If you want some of the best ‘photo-opportunities’ on Hadrian’s Wall, then you must visit Steel Rigg, with its magnificent views of the Wall along the top of the Whin Sill towards Crag Lough.
Walking east from Steel Rigg — towards Sycamore Gap and Housesteads — is both challenging and exhilarating, with steep, stepped paths and unfenced crag-top views northwards.
Steel Rigg is easy to reach by road, it has good parking, and nearby you can find meals and accommodation at both The Sill — National Landscape Discovery Centre and Youth Hostel — and at the Twice Brewed Inn (which now has its own brewery).
Steel Rigg is always a highlight of our ‘All-day Package’, and well worth a stop even if you’re short of time.
At Go Hadrian’s Wall we have a range of vehicles, and provide flexible travel for any number of people, up to and including groups of 20 or more.
